The annual African Logistics Conference (ALC) brings together local and regional researchers, business leaders and professionals from humanitarian, government, donor, academic and private sectors to share and exchange knowledge related to supply chain networks in the context of humanitarian assistance in East Africa.

The conference offers opportunities for the identification of humanitarian issues and trends specifically affecting the region. It facilitates the sharing of opportunities, ideas and solutions to foster collaboration and partnership in order to meet the complex humanitarian challenges.

This year's theme is "Humanitarian Logistics and the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030". The conference will consider how supply networks in Africa need to evolve to support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations and which end in 2030.

The conference will be opened by Karl Gernandt, Member of the Board, Kuehne Foundation, and will be closed by Ms Denise Brown, Director of Emergencies, WFP.
