Background and History

The Procurement and Supply Chain Students Association (PSSA) is a student professional association in the University of Nairobi, School of business, whose aim is to link its members to the supply chain industry professionals and to complement students’ class room theory with critical techniques and changing trends in the Supply Chain Industry.

PSSA was founded in 2011 with the sole aim of bringing together students specializing in supply chain management and procurement together.

PSSA enjoys 30% of student membership in the school of business currently and is rapidly growing to match the planned membership of about 60% of the students.

In line with this, we endeavor to:

  • Promote academic excellence among our members by availing them with resources that would be useful for this purpose.
  • Developing our members beyond classroom experience to be able not only to effectively grasp class theory but also to apply the theory and practical experience gained to benefit the community.
  •  Provide opportunities to members for interactions between students and potential employers.
  • Use the Procurement and Supply Chain Management and business knowledge of our members to educate members of the public to whom such knowledge may be useful.
  • Instill a sense of social responsibility and business ethics in our members.
  • Consistently providing to our corporate partners, high quality graduates, who not only have a good command in Procurement and Supply Chain Management concepts but also well-grounded in other extra-curricular activities.
  • Educate the public on Procurement and Supply Chain Management and its impact on their daily lives and how well they can use that knowledge to gain a competitive edge on their daily activities.
